The other day I was sitting in the park back home, and I was just.. overcome with the beauty of God's creation.. and I was praying and thinking about other things...
And then I was thinking about faith.
Having faith..
We believe in God and have faith that he is there... just as sure as we know the sun will rise tomorrow.
The sun will rise.
Sometimes we get down and we wonder about things...
But God is always here.
The sun still rises every morning.
We can be scared of the dark at night, but we have hope that we can make it until the sun rises, because it rises every single day. It rises, it sets, it's there.
We have faith that the sun will rise... whether you call it faith or not, we all have faith that it will rise.
The Sun is God's creation... we have faith in the sun, we have faith in Him.
Just as sure as the sun rises, God is there.
He is providing, guiding, caring, LOVING us.
He is so good.
It's incredible how much He can love ugly sinners like us.
it's humbling, and it should be.
We can never dream to love someone half as much as he loves us... not even one millionth of the amount he loves us!
Thinking is good.
God is good.

Family is amazing.

Food is wonderful.

Playing the piano feels sooo good.

Holding August is also perfect.

And playing with River is awesome.

I am so incredibly blessed! So much more than I can even imagine I deserve...

God is amazing, and He continues to amaze me with every thing that he gives us daily, and the comfort He brings and provides. He is truly so good (in case you doubt that, you shouldn't. Because he is the definition of true PERFECTION.)

I'm amazed.

And Thankful :)

I'm having a weak moment.... and i _really_ want to reactivate my Facebook at this moment. BUT. I am writing a paper... that's due at 8 a.m. tomorrow morning. So I can't do this. I deleted it for this very purpose, that when I got to this point in writing, I wouldn't be wasting 2 minutes here and there checking Facebook which ends up adding up to hours that I could have spent on perfecting this paper!!

So instead, I've come to waste a few minutes on blogging.

Things to be happy about at this moment:

-In less that 24 hours I will be with my BEST FRIEND! war eagle baby.

-I got an A on my last English paper.

-I ran 1 1/2 miles in 12 minutes 4o seconds

-I started volunteering today

-I straightened my hair

-I'm registered for next semesters classes

-I get to Skype with August and River tomorrow!

-I am so beyond blessed, even when I take it for granted, God is still so good.

oh and Aunt Lois made homemade bread for me. it's absolutely delicious. yum.

haha... oh my what's with this blue underlined mess? i have no idea...

So I deleted (or technically..."deactivated") my Facebook for a little while...

It just needed to go.

I'd been saying forever that I was just going to get rid of Facebook..

so the other night I finally just did it!

It felt so nice!

And it really is amazing (and sad) how much I got on Facebook and now how much more time i have to say... oh i don't know, work on my English paper that's due Friday.

Anyways. Because I knooooow you (the thousands that read this blog) will all miss me sooo entirely much (i hope you're sensing the sarcasm here) I will be reactivating it soon... I just needed a good break. :)

I have an English paper due on Monday... I hate research papers. Have I ever said that?

I literally hate them with a passion and am completely incapable of writing a decent research paper. Ok maybe not, but I still absolutely despise them.

And then I have to read psychology... and then study for my math test (let's just say I need to make a very good grade on this one!!).. and a chemistry quiz. man. But.

We can do it--eeeasy.

Something about writing those papers is just...eeeegh.

I still don't remember what I was going to write about... what a shame.

For just a minute... I forgot I shared a room with someone.

I was sitting here, consumed by the computer (of course..), and I hear my roommate shuffle around. "Oh yeah," I thought. "I'm not by myself right now.... I live with someone........how strange."

Just a thought comes out of no where and you just say... "oh yeah!"

We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of this new baby.

For those of you who don't know, my brother and his wife are expecting their second baby.

Her due date is tomorrow.

She's ready.

He's ready.

We're all ready!

And, to add to it all, it's a suprise!!

So needless to say..... I'M SO EXCITED TO GET HOME AND FOR THIS BABY TO ARRIVE INTO THIS WORLD!

p.s. did i mention I get to be in the delivery room?

Laundry Day

I have plenty to write about.... but for now... I will just say,

I love the smell of laundry.

I love all things laundry (except maybe dirty laundry)

But the smell, doing laundry, waiting in the laundry room for it to finish, meeting friends whilst waiting for your load to finish!

It's pretty wonderful.

But most of all.... The smell.

The detergent aisle is my absolute favorite!!

Ah... there's nothing better.

I hope my house has a laundry vent that's right by the front door so you can smell it as you walk in.

Woohoo! This is my 200th post! Crazy talk. Well... this will just be a random post.

So my friends and I decided to do an underwater photoshoot... is that weird?

Well this is how it turned out!

It was absolutely exhausting, not to mention how strange it felt to be swimming in long dresses...

But it was really just fun!

Sure, it may have been silly, but it'll be cool to look back on.

It has been an absolutely crazy month. With wrapping up senior year with a million things, graduation prep, graduating (ah! i'm graduated now!), and then I leave Tuesday morning and I'll be gone for about 3 weeks.

I'm going to the lake, then Thursday and Friday is orientation (aaaah!), then I leave the next week for a roadtrip to Charleston!

And then I have a weekend to recover, then head straight on to Singing School!

Ah. crazy.

So I have to pack and prepare for all of that tomorrow..... kill me.

I know it will be fun, but it's just crazy.

Did I mention I found out who my roommate/suitemates are?

Yeah, that's pretty exciting!!

And I found out when I move in, which is earlier than I like, but obviously that'll have to be okay.

Have I ever mentioned how I wish I was a brilliant writer?

Just to put my thoughts down in a way that becomes beautiful poetry.. to pour out your soul, and one person may see what you really meant, and another may just see a beautiful set of words. Some people... Some people just have a way with words.

You know? they just portray their emotions through those words, and it gets better.

It's such a gift.

But anyways. I really hope y'all's summer is going well!

It's going to be different, but I feel it's going to be a good summer.

I didn't think it would come so soon... but here it is...

My last day of high school (Lord willing, I don't have to take any of my exams) is tomorrow.

Some people aren't going tomorrow, because well, they just don't have to.

I guess I technically don't have to either, but I can't imagine not coming on my last day.

It's the last time I will ever be in high school again.

School itself will never be the same.

It's so bittersweet.

Bitter, because this means I have to move on with my life, grow up a little more, take more responsibility, move away from home, and also part ways from the people I've grown up with.

Sweet, because no more high school, no more ridiculous rules, and it's opening a new "chapter"

I still don't feel old enough to be graduating, much less a high school student.

Anyways, I'll stop before I go overboard with the sentimental junk.

But. I can't believe it. Summer is almost here.

So this weekend was PROM!

I went with one of my friends, Peter. He asked me to prom on an orange (i can't find the picture). simple, but cute :)

Actual prom itself is pretty overrated, but the getting ready and pictures and "afterparty" parts are very very fun :)

I was going to wear my hair like this, but I thought maybe it was a little much, yeah? ;)

Ha, our friend Kari insisted that Peter and I hug again... and.. it was just.. terribly awkward and funny.

I don't know if it's because the weather has turned a little warmer (for now),

or if the sky really is just more vibrant this February. But I've been noticing just how magnificent the early morning and evening skies seem to be. I wish I had a camera to capture at least a fragment of how beautiful they've been. I'm blessed to have a beautiful drive to school every morning, with a beautiful early morning sun, and the pretty fields on either side.. it's just amazing. And the moon tonight. Oh, it was just incredible, so big, so bright! (the moon has also seemed brighter). Anyways, I just hope you can take a moment and revel in God's amazing creation. Have a good day!

The stars are very pretty tonight. The sky is perfectly clear. Nights like this I wish I lived a little further away from civilization, so that I could see an incomprehensible amount of stars. I've only seen the Milky Way once or twice in my life. So. If it is a clear night when you read this, just go take a peek at the stars. It's cold, so don't stay too long. But.. enjoy it.

Take in every bit of God's creative masterpieces.

There's something about a film camera..

I know film is all "indie" and cool and what not,

But it truly is a beautiful art.

If you know how to actually work an old film camera, things can turn out pretty well.

It is fun to take time on a picture, and get things just right, and then have to wait.. It's a nice sort of suprise :)

Pritchett Family Christmas last night, i LOVE it. There's so many people, so many babies now! It's absolutely wonderful. And, as always, the "gigglers" (MJ, Whitt, and myself) exchanged gifts with each other. Everything was WONDERFUL.

So my family and I (minus Caleb) flew back to San Antonio for Jordan's graduation from basic training!!

We're so proud of him, he's doing so well..

It was so good to see him, and little River missed him too.

Meaning, one of those good days.

There was nothing specifically spectacular about it...

But it was just good.

Isn't it amazing just how much weather affects your mood?

Today it was slightly cool, and SUNNY.

It was just wonderful.

I went into Urban Outfitters today and I couldn't help but...

well... laugh to myself about what I saw.

I saw all those indie kids trying to be cool and non-conformist....

...wearing patterned high-waisted skirts some cool shoes, neat hair..

Hey, I like that look, someone once told me I was indie, so i'm not bashing.

But just sayin... they were so similarly "different".

I still like Urban Outfitters, don't worry.

River is almost one year old now... whhhat?!

Crazy.

She has decided to learn a new language, all her own.

it's so cute.

Musician's Corner at Centennial Park was today..

it's so relaxing... any of you in the Nashville area, it's every saturday from 3-6!

And we finished off the day in a beautiful church building with an uplifting sermon.

Wonderful :)

I found some yellow overalls in my closet today....

I once wore them for a play in 6th grade... and I kinda love em.

I don't know that i'd actually wear them. Maybe if they weren't the shorts overalls I'd wear them.

We'll see.

One week from Thursday, we'll get to see Jordan!!!

Today was a half day... but man, it felt like a whole day at school...

So San Antonio.

We went almost 2 weekends ago, and how did we get there?

We flew!!

"why is that so exciting, Chelsea?"

Because it was my first flight. ever. and it. was. amazing.

I think my favorite part was the landing.

Anyways, so with San Antonio, there was an automatic love for the place..

There were so many amazing colors and trees! oh the trees..

We stayed somewhere in the historic district..

We went the first day and ate at a little restaurant called Mad Hatters.

It was simple, delicious, sooo good.

One day we went to Sea World, amazing.

Another day we went to the Alamo (I almost forgot that)

and from there we walked to the Market Square which was probably one of my favorite parts.

Everything was just loaded and SO full of culture, oh my gosh it was phenomenal!

In Market Square, there was this place called Mi Tierra's.

It was "authentic mexican"

It was amazing, I mean, very similar to the mexican we have here at home,

but what made that place really amazing was the building, the decorations, the massive wall mural, the lights, the music, the people.

It was pretty crazy how close we were to Jordan, but couldn't see him..

San Antonio, I love you.

And guess what!

We get to go back September 23rd (which happens to be Miss River's 1st birthday!)

for Jordan's actual basic training graduation!

Oh I'm so excited to get to see him...

he writes us pretty often, and it's always entertaining to read what he says.

Anyways, so if you ever have the chance to visit San Antonio, jump on it!

So we were having a little fun on the River Walk :)

She's had diarrhea for the past week, and we're not completely sure what's wrong yet.

Katie took River to the doctor the other day, and they don't get results from tests until tomorrow.

My family and I are flying to San Antonio tomorrow..

Did I mention it was my first time flying in an airplane?

First time?

As in, I was planning to go my whole entire life without flying on an airplane.......

Not really.

But why are you going to San Antonio??

Some of you know my brother, Jordan, left for basic training, (he's in the Airforce, special forces)

Well, his original ship out date was June 22... but that got pushed back.

His original graduation date was August 20, so of course, we bought plane tickets for that weekend.

.....non-refundable tickets...

So he doesn't graduate until September 23 now, but we thought we'd make a family trip out of it anyways... so here we go!

Times are changin

So... school starts in 2 weeks, that's a little depressing...

It has been one of the best summers so far, different, but still so amazing..

and gone by WAY too fast!!

So this is what's been going on around here the past couple of weeks:

-JD and Katie and River moved back into our house, bought a house, about to move out of our house and into their new house.

-Caleb and his best friend are renting an apartment now and he just recently moved out.

-Jordan left on Tuesday for Airforce basic training...

So, everyone seems to be leaving around the same time..

Caleb will still be not too far, and JD, Katie and River will be literally 9 houses away from us...

So that's not too sad,

But Jordan... well he's in San Antonio...

I'm gonna miss him the most.

We've just gotten so close this past year, and it's hard when your brother leaves..

And it's sad when i'll think he's just at a friends house, but then i remember he's not coming back for a while.

I folded his clothes yesterday, it was kinda sad too.

But this is something he was ready to do.

Something he was passionate about, and he'll turn out to be amazing.

He's got this competitive drive that would perhaps suprise you if you haven't seen him play football or any sport.

He'll be amazing.

And we're so proud of him.

So if I could please ask you to pray for him, and keep him strong, not only physically, but spiritually too, and also for JD and Katie, and Caleb...

Actually, our whole family needs the prayers

But honestly, I haven't been home one full week this summer....

I haven't been in the same state for one straight week...

And so far, it's been so good!

I like trees....
I like to draw....
So it's no suprise, that when I get bored during school
(oh no, of course it's not when I should be paying attention!)
I open up my school planner....
and begin to draw...
This trend of drawing a new tree each week began in October.
It lasted until May.
So here's the outcome of this:

Apparently my philosophy was if I make it pretty, I'll remember...

(didn't always work)

...I call them lightning bugs.

And, is it just me, or does there seem to be even more this year than the last?
I personally love them.

I walked downstairs the night before last and looked out the front door.

There they were.

It seemed like there were hundreds of them!

All lighting up, then fading away....light up!.......fade away...
It was absolutely beautiful :)

The Widow Tree.

I like to believe that this tree here below

Was a Husband and Wife.

They grew up together,

they grew strong.

Together, they made the perfect tree.

A tree which held so many memories.....

far too many to even begin.

But this beautiful marriage tree has brought countless smiles to children's faces..

so many family pictures.

just. memories.

It was one of the oldest and coolest trees in this dear old neighborhood.

This is it now.

Now it is just the Widow Tree..

and I'm afraid without her old partner, she won't last very long...

It's just not the same...

I know you may think, "oh shut up, it's just a tree"

but it defined our back yard..

It's one of the sweetest things in the world...

holding that beautiful baby in your arms...

her warm body snuggled up to you as you give her a bottle.

She just takes it, and looks at you...

looks at you with those big blue eyes, as they get heavier and heavier.

And all the while, she's so trusting, so loving, so innocent.

It is so sweet...

just to be able to hold her, and love her, and she just looks back at you with loving eyes.

Because I'm about to leave for Alabama for my dear cousin's graduation..

I can't believe she's graduating..

I love her so.

That is why I'm making this trip to alabama.

And then i'll come back tomorrow to take my last exam,

to finish up my last day as a junior.

And move on to be a senior.

And then after the exam, i'll come home and start packing for the beach!

We'll be leaving saturday... aaaaah

How many times have I come to my blog for reasons of procrastination?

...a lot...

how many times have I said.. I HATE PROJECTS?!

...probably quite a bit...

How many times have I said.. tomorrow is my last full normal day

of my junior year of highschool?

....once.

Is it weird that people I've grown up with,

both in and out of Franklin, are graduating??

...heck yeah...

Do I find it odd and slightly (a lot) scary that

I'll be a senior... and I'll have to start applying

to colleges, and make decisions, and by this

time next year I'll be getting ready to graduate?!

....ABSOLUTELY.

And I just gotta keep reminding myself to put all these worries in God's hands...

He's got my back :)

...and that gives me comfort.

Flood of the Century...

This past weekend, the Franklin/Nashville area (along with other places in tennessee and mississippi) recieved SO SO SO much rain.

So much rain that many rivers got overwhelmed and had to flood.

I was down in Birmingham during all this, mind you.

So Saturday night i was texting Jordan, and he was jokin around,

"I'm about ready to build an ark"

and then a little later I asked how things were goin, and he said....

"The National Guard had to come in to evacuate people"

Haha Jordan, he's a jokester.

or not.

he was serious.

The National Guard was coming in and getting people from the back of the neighborhood.

Our house was fine, thank goodness, but there are so many people affected by this..

Please keep everyone in your prayers!

It's always inspiring to see people come together, willing to get dirty and sweaty and nasty,

just to help out their neighbor, to come and volunteer and give a helping hand.

It shows that there is still some good in this world :)

Now, like I said, our house was fine... but unfortunately,

Oh these trees....

Heavy with white and pink blossoms,

budding all bright and green.

But most of all,

the rainy weeping willow trees.

The prettiest, flowing, brightest green branches..

my favorite :)

"rain trees" as i used to call them.

Everything, absolutely everything is beautiful.

Flowers are sprouting from the ground, the trees are blooming,

the grass is GREEN, and the weather is warm.

Thank you God for all these moments :)

fine, fine...
so i was excited about my birthday!

The big 1-7

I've been slackin on my blog posts, and reading posts.

So let me tell you how my wonderful day went....

Slept late--always nice when in need of sleep!

Caleb, my "sweet" brother went and got cinnamon rolls for me

while i freshened up and took a shower.

{while i was away in the shower, i got a lovely phonecall}

Ate the delicious cinnamon rolls,

drove to Greenhills to eat lunch with my mom!

(she's been away at work for 3 weeks, so I'm glad she's back in Nashville)

After lunch, came home,

then met J.D. Katie (and River) and Brennan and Khara (family friends)

at Mellow Mushroom, and then we walked around downtown franklin

{did i mention the weather was GORGEOUS?!}

After dtf, we met my beautiful mom and the baby she nannies at the park near our house.

{once again, the weather. was. beautiful!}

A little girl came up to me when she was hurt and put her arms around me.. it was sooo sweet!!

So after this, I had to go back to school for Into The Woods.

Lots of fun goin on there :)

After the play (which had the best crowd!)

We headed over to the Guido's house for DELICOUS food,

then a few friends

(Amy, Natalie, and Delaney)

and I went over to Amy's house for the night.

We talked and talked and laughed and stayed up waaaaay too late..

{p.s. the lovely phonecall from the Porter family + Laura + Wesley + [others?] made me miss them so so much! then to top it off, Mary-John called, asked a question, hung up. my thoughts? sad. sad. sad.. did my best friend really forget my birthday?? of course not. She called back a couple minutes later giving me the BEST BEST BEST happy birthday phone call ever!! Screaming, yelling, shouting, singing, all at the same time Happy birthday call that absoluetly just MADE. MY. DAY!}

I'm so blessed to have the friends and family I do.

So blessed by God to have another year.

I woke up this morning not feeling the best--a bit of a sore throat to be exact..

So on my way back home from dress rehearsal, i stopped by sonic and got some delicious food!!

Several things:

-a birthday is coming up very soon!

(saturday, to be exact!)

-I need to start gardening

-I had a very very fun weekend (but very short) weekend with my BEST friends (and cousins) in the world!!

-my niece is getting more and more cute and entertaining!!

(she'll be 6 months next week)

ACT

I took the ACT at school yesterday.

eeeeh.

Ok, I know what you're thinking,

"The ACT!?! poor thing!!"

honestly.... I don't want to sounds like "oh ho i'm so good"

...but i'm confident that i did better than last time...

so... praying that I did as well as i think!

After the test, the whole junior class was stuck in the cafeteria (nothing against the cafeteria, it's a very nice one) for another hour or so.

There were many forged notes to leave...

but....

we ended up just leaving...

and somehow 4 more people ended up in my car...

(the Grand Wagoneer!!)

So we went to Moe's

(i didn't have any money, so i ate the lunch my dad so kindly packed for me)

and then we decided we'd go to the mall.

It was quite the adventure..

and then we had to go back to school for rehearsal.

(i'm doing spotlight for Into The Woods!)

After rehearsal it was time.

BREAD MAKING TIME!!!!

This was the first time my mom wasn't around while I made it..

i can do this...

I realized I ended up adding 1 cup of flour instead of the 2 cups it called for...

and you know what??

I think it's the best it's ever tasted!!

(probably because it's so moist :D)

So a very good day to say the least

This morning I woke up a little after 9, got ready and drove to school.

"But Chelsea, it is Saturday!!"

Into The Woods opens in 2 weeks (aaah!)

I'm not in it, but I am helping with the tech stuff.

I get to do spotlight!!

exciting!

Anyways, so I was helping out our theater teacher all day, (along with many other great helpers)

and it was fun.

After that I came home.

Got ready.

Went to the Frist art museum!

I had a piece in the W. county art fair..

Pretty sweet...

There were some awesome pieces there!!

{my piece is that flower}

So after the Frist, I drove home on the interstate

(aaaah!)

But--before we went home, i made a stop by Best Buy

and gave in and bought 2 Ray Lamontagne cds..

oooh Ray, you make my knees go weak.

His voice.. his voice..

Jordan and I once looked him up on Google to see if he was a good guy

We believe him to live up to the standards of "Good Guy"

And now I'm home..

But the weather today, was fantastic!!

I wore a dress.. without tights :)

Oh Spring, please come soon.

We'd like to see your beautiful flowers and trees blooming, and feel warm sunshine on our skin.

So please hurry... or at least stay and not turn cold!!

2 years ago today this world lost one of the funniest, silliest, goofiest grandfathers ever...

George Park.

Papa.

He was like one of the kids..

He once gave my brother, Caleb, a wedgie, and ripped his underwear!

(i think my mom put him in timeout... hahah)

seeing by the picture below, he laughed and ate all he wanted!

And he lived to be into his 80's...

What a great life..

So here's to you Papa,

not mourning your loss, but rejoicing in the fact that you are in such a better place now.

All day at school I wanted to fall asleep in class (i kind of have a fear of falling asleep in class just in case i drool or do... something else in my sleep)

ANYWAYS.

So when I got home, the first the my mom said (besides hello) was guess what we're doing!

going to the Y!!! (to work out) (yay...)

I said I was so tired... so she told me to go to my room and take a nap "right now!"

So... I did.

And. It. Felt. So. Nice.

An hour and a half!

I haven't had a nap in so long, seriously.. it was great!

Oh what an adventure...

So.. let me just say I am by far not the best cook you've ever met... a far ways off actually..

I've just never really had that much practice!

So Katie gave me a starter for Amish Friendship Bread..

I decided to take on this challenge.

So this afternoon was the special day!

Some of you know my mother.

I love her to death.

But she can be stubborn.

er... you just have to do things her way.

So I was really determined to do this on my own.

I will grow from this, and perfect the bread.

Well... after some....discussion we finally started.

She told me some tricks... and sometimes I would say..

It doesn't follow the recipe!!

(mama is known to not follow recipes)

But anyways... needless to say it's sitting in the oven now,

and oh. my. goodness.

it smells divine!

So i'll let you know how it turns out!!

Why... why do i always do this!?

I don't really...mean to procrastinate...

There's just... so many other things to do!

But I also like to think I do better under the pressure.

My brothers say the same thing.. maybe it's just a family thing :)

So I should probably get back to writing my history outline.

It's on the development of photography between 1900 and 1945.

So... It'll be interesting, so hopefully I can get this (plus another math project, it's easy) done before midnight! :)
